Improve your happiness and do more everyday with one simple step

As you go through your day, write down anything that needs attention, that bothers you — which can be fixed.

Then each day at a certain time (say after dinner) — go and knock one thing off that list.

An example for me was realizing a bulb burned out in the kitchen.  When you notice it, take a note.  Then take the time to fix it later, say after dinner.
